NEW FACES AND HEALTHY CHOICES ARE CHANGING BURGER PLANET’S IMAGE
Burger Planet is catering to the health conscious with the hire of Jayne Petersen and numerous new healthy food additions in their menu

GARY, Ind.-- Burger Planet has signed on Jayne Peterson, fitness guru who helped Opal Whitcomb lose 75 pounds, to be their new spokesperson alongside Corny the Clown.

The company supports those who want to maintain a healthy lifestyle and Petersen is someone Burger Planet feels will show women they can eat what they love at Burger Planet and be fit at the same time. "Jayne Petersen and Burger Planet share a commitment toward health. The women Jayne Petersen have helped lose weight eat at Burger Planet. Burger Planet and Jayne Petersen are launching a comprehensive program to assist those women in eating healthy," said James E. Muellenbach III, Burger Planet CEO.

Along with their beloved burger classics such as The Saturn or The Mercury, Burger Planet is throwing some healthy choices into the mix. White meat chicken breast has been added to the menu and there is an option to wrap it in lettuce for those on a low carb diet. Customers can request any Burger Planet meal without a bun. When holding the mayo one sandwich is 150 calories. Along with the healthy main meal, Burger Planet now offers packets of five different kinds of fruits as a side dish: apples, grapes, peaches, pineapples or bananas. Another healthy choice are the different kinds of gourmet salads, 300 calories with dressing, 150 calories without it.

Petersen will be working with the Burger Planet Chefs to be sure their meals are friendly to those who love Burger Planet and want to eat healthy food. Her nutritional advice will be on every tray liner in Burger Planet and Petersen will have a kick-off ceremony at the Burger Planet franchise in Times Square, New York. “I emphasize a message of moderation. Women can have a burger and fries now and then as long as they are active and also try some of Burger Planet's exciting new menu choices, such as the fruit packages," Petersen said.

Burger Planet is headquartered in Gary, Ind., and was founded in 1934 by James E. Muellenbach I. Muellenback I is retired but is the president of the Quick Service Restaurant Association. Well done, i liked it a lot. One I thing that I liked a lot about your press release was when you were introducing the new kinds of menu items you mentioned a few old menu items too. That part was very effective for me. Great job overall.

I really liked it but I felt that your second heading was a bit to long. I also felt that some of the information that should have been at the top wasn't introduced until later. I don't think that the main information is Peterson joining the team. I think your lead should mention more about the food changing instead of Peterson being the spokes person.

Sorry I know that sounds harsh and I have no room to judge. That's just my opinion don't hate me. Really all of the content was great though!

I didn't really think that Jayne was all that important as the healthy options was. I also didn't think the first sentence of the second paragraph should be rewritten in 'forward' voice, rather than passive. A lot of your work is passive. I like the tone of your writing, but it was too passive.
...sorry...I want to help you!

Lots of good info, Annekah. Try to make it a little more concise by focusing on what's most important. Great job, though.

Fix AP Style on the date. I would drop Jayne out of the second headline. Corny the Clown does not belong in the lead. Your CEO quote say "have" and should say "has". If you're going to list the fruits, you don't need to say how many there are.
