SWEETLY DIVINE OFFERS A BALANCED MEAL TO COLLEGE STUDENTS
Fast, affordable meals are available and it’s not fast food

LOGAN, Utah— Sweetly Divine has well-balanced meals at a price that won’t break the bank for college students.

Though the shop opened primarily as a pastry shop, Sweetly Divine now has homemade sandwiches, soups and salads all at reasonable prices. Every day boasts a new soup at the price of $4.45 a bowl and salads are $4.75. Both are a full meal in themselves full of nutrients a burger from McDonalds cannot provide. “Sweetly Divine’s sandwiches are just what the name boasts: divine,” Laurie Tanner, a regular customer, said. The sandwiches include turkey, ham and cheese, veggie and roast beef all on a focaccia bun. Chef and owner Mark Grodkowski says roast beef is his favorite.

These healthy choices are a great alternative for a burger at a fast food restaurant. Nutrients you wouldn’t get from a fast food joint are stuffed into these delicious lunches.

Sweetly Divine was opened three years ago by owner and chef Grodkowski. This shop now offers sandwiches, salads and soups along with the European inspired pastries. Prices range anywhere from a Danish at $1.95 to whole cakes at $37.50. Everything is handmade fresh daily.

Subject Line: Cache Valley Area Investors Association is helping Cache Valley become financially independent

Dear Karen Lambert,

Cache Valley Area Investors Association (CVAIA), a non-profit organization, is looking to help people follow philosophies that will help them reach financial independence quicker. I’ve noticed that your previous articles in the Herald Journal have been focused on keeping the residents of Cache Valley well informed on everything local. The residents of Cache Valley need to know there is this corporation meeting weekly that will give them valuable information.

CVAIA meets every other Thursday at 7 p.m. to discuss philosophies such as how to make your passive income greater that your expenses to become financially independent. In order to start achieving financial independence it is necessary to have time, experience or money. With a moderate amount of all three financial independence can be achieved in anywhere from three to 15 years.

If people learn the right mentality and approaches to investing, they can all be successful in what they desire. People should be able to spend their time doing something they love not just a job that provides an income. Passive Income largely makes this possible. Cache Valley Area Investors Association (CVAIA) teaches people how to increase passive income. CVAIA embraces the Law of Attraction, Law of Abundance, and Law of exchange. They practice the methods found in the ideologies of books including Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Wealthy barber, The Millionaire Next Door, Atlas Shrugged, The Automatic Millionaire, and The Secret. CVAIA began in August 2007 and now has members from many geographical locations and from all walks of life. The members come together with the same belief: that education mitigates the risks of investing.

CVAIA IS HELPING PEOPLE BECOME FINANCIALY INDEPENDENT

LOGAN, Utah— Cache Valley Area Investors (CVAIA), a non-profit organization, is looking to help people follow philosophies that will help them reach financial independence quicker.

Preston Parker, president and founder of CVAIA, says their main goals are to get people to make their passive income greater than their expenses so that they can do the work they love. When this happens financial independence has been achieved. “If everyone in America could learn and apply the philosophies taught by this organization, the number of financially independent people would skyrocket,” Parker said.

CVAIA meet every other Thursday at 7 p.m. to discuss these philosophies. In order to start achieving financial independence it is necessary to have time, experience or money. With a moderate amount of all three financial independence can be achieved in anywhere from three to 15 years.

Barbie is fifty, fashionable and on facebook!

Barbie will have her 50th anniversary in March, and there will be the launch of establishing Barbie as a ‘symbol of fashion and pop culture’ and reaching out to three generations of Barbie lovers.

In this new marketing campaign, Mattel is hoping to create awareness that Barbie is still around and as fashion savvy as ever. The campaign will include everything from getting the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week to include a fashion show with 50 Barbie inspired looks to creating a Barbie Facebook page to promoting their message on a national morning show.

Today it seems we can’t just do one thing. If you only get a Facebook group and do nothing else your cause will have little credibility and nobody will know to go to that page or what it’s all about. At the same time, if you do everything but you don’t have a Facebook page you missed out on an opportunity to take the campaign to a new interactive level. While the old ways of PR, such as press releases, morning shows or fashion shows, are a great foundation, it is crucial to build on that with the new technology and the new ways to interact with people and get information to them quickly. A commercial or a slot on a talk show is great to get people aware, then when they have the option go to that Facebook page and add their friends it is only spreading the word about the campaign and you have achieved a level of awareness that wasn’t available not too long ago.

I think Mattel has done well in covering all its bases and I will definitely keep an eye out to see if Barbie starts popping up on my radar more often. http://www.prweekus.com/Mattel-hopes-Barbies-50th-resonates-with-three-generations/article/126843/

A Caspian Production: Heather Mason Bertini

Today Heather came to speak to my JCOM 2300 class and it got me so excited. I don’t know exactly what I want to do with my PR major yet, but it was so amazing to see someone talk about doing a job they so obviously love. The way she talked about her projects made me want to do anything it took to work for her. She made me think a lot about event planning and I definitely want to look more into it and see if it’s something I’m interested in pursuing.

The main message I got from her coming to speak to our class was you can do ANYTHING you really want to do. She stressed never taking no as an answer and to pursue what you wanted in any way possible. She didn’t seem like someone who got intimidated by anybody, she knows what she wants and she goes for it. This is something I really admire in a person and something I need to do myself. This semester I am trying really hard to be more aggressive, I can see it is a requirement for this competitive world.

Anyway, I know this is a random thought and rambling on about this woman but I hope someday I can come back to Utah State a talk to a class telling them what I’ve learned and hopefully they will be as inspired as I was listening to Heather Maston Bertini.

NEW FACES AND HEALTHY CHOICES ARE CHANGING BURGER PLANET’S IMAGE
Burger Planet is catering to the health conscious with numerous healthy food additions in their menu

GARY, Ind.-- Burger Planet has signed on Jayne Peterson, fitness guru who helped Opal Whitcomb lose 75 pounds, to be their new spokesperson and promote their healthy additions to the menu.

The company supports those who want to maintain a healthy lifestyle and Petersen is someone Burger Planet feels will show women they can eat what they love at Burger Planet and be fit at the same time. "Jayne Petersen and Burger Planet share a commitment toward health. The women Jayne Petersen has helped lose weight eat at Burger Planet. Burger Planet and Jayne Petersen are launching a comprehensive program to assist those women in eating healthy," said James E. Muellenbach III, Burger Planet CEO.

Along with their beloved burger classics such as The Saturn or The Mercury, Burger Planet is throwing some healthy choices into the mix. The company added white meat chicken breast to the menu. Customers can request any Burger Planet meal without a bun and wrap it in lettuce to cut down on carbs. When holding the mayo one sandwich is 150 calories. Along with the healthy main meal, Burger Planet now offers a variety of fruits as a side dish: apples, grapes, peaches, pineapples or bananas. Another healthy choice are the different kinds of gourmet salads, 300 calories with dressing, 150 calories without it.

Petersen will be working with the Burger Planet Chefs to be sure their meals are friendly to those who love Burger Planet and want to eat healthy food. Her nutritional advice will be on every tray liner in Burger Planet. Petersen and Corny the Clown will have a kick-off ceremony at the Burger Planet franchise in Times Square, New York. “I emphasize a message of moderation. Women can have a burger and fries now and then as long as they are active and also try some of Burger Planet's exciting new menu choices, such as the fruit packages," Petersen said.

Myspace wedding

Myspace is getting ready to debut a reality Web series that will follow a couple through their engagement and end with a wedding. This is part of a strategy to draw in an older, more diverse crowd to their online social networking community as well as bring reality shows online instead of exclusively on television networks.

In my opinion Myspace is not considering the typical reality television viewers. The people who watch reality tv are most likely already plugged into this new age that is all about technology and reality tv. The people who are going to watch this Myspace wedding series are most likely already signed up on Myspace.

Myspace is losing out to Facebook these days and this might be how they are trying to gain more credibility and more users but I think many people are going to see this new attempt as lame. There are already so many reality television shows, I can’t count the number of times a day I hear people saying they are sick of them. In order for Myspace to keep up with the times they need a brand new idea, not one that has been overdone and people are getting sick of.
